The Art in the Apartments

Spending Quality Time with Great Art.

Spending Quality Time with Great Art.

There is no better way to enjoy art than in the comfort of your own home. Just you and the artwork, a sense of wellbeing and inspiration. Here in your apartment you will also have great art for you to spend time with all to yourself. You can get to know it better, see it change subtly with the light over the course of the day. This piece by Lenka Novak is a good example: always a wonderfully calming piece to have around you. click here for a larger picture.

The Collections

The Collections

Each Art Apartment (2 more are in preparation) has its own collection of artwork by local painters, photographers, woodworkers and ceramicists for you to discover. This simple but charming bowl, for example, by Raven Ceramics is evocative of rockpools seen in the sunlight. click here for larger image

The Art Adventure

The Art Adventure

The artwork fits into the style and feel of each room of the apartment. Some of the pieces have been made especially for it and take inspiration from the surrounding Mournes area. This charming piece is by Sarah Leneghan and there is a novel way for you to catch sight of it awaiting you. Click here for larger image

The Magic of the Mournes

The Magic of the Mournes

Many of the pieces in your apartment take inspiration from the majesty, mythology and magic of the Mourne Mountains just outside your door. This piece by Nick Mack celebrates the magnificent drama to be seen between skyline and cloud when walking in the mountains just before sunset. We love our clouds !  Click here for a larger image

Repurposing and Recycling

Repurposing and Recycling

Sustainability and protecting nature is important to us especially at this time of climate change. The art on show reflects this. For example this coffee table was made by David Keys using no power tools and working with reclaimed wood and an old chainsaw bar. Other furniture items in the apartment, particularly the wardrobes and kitchen surround are also upcycled. Not only sustainable, as you will see this also a fine opportunity to get creative ! click here for larger image

New Work

The work on show will change over time so there will always be something new to see. We are keen to support new artists such as artschool graduates with fresh new work, such as this piece by Lucy Bell which is one of her four final year compositions. Click here for a larger image
